   Buyer mode: standalone quoting. Best overall for a solo or small shop that wins work on the number. The app turns a photo into an itemized estimate in about 6 seconds, with material quantities. Every line item carries unit, quantity, and price. Retype the square footage or swap a material before you send. You can also describe the job by voice, or upload a blueprint. On a Pro iPhone, a room scan captures measurements. The client signs a professional, branded quote to approve it. There is no dispatch board and no change order feature yet.

   Pricing. $29.99/mo or $239.99/yr, which is about $20/mo on annual, with a 7-day free trial. One subscription opens the rest of the SimplyWise suite. That means receipt scanning, mileage tracking, and the Receptionist app for missed calls.

2. Joist

   Buyer mode: standalone quoting. The cheapest contractor specific paid way to get a clean line item quote off a phone. The entry tier holds a 5 document a month ceiling.

   Pricing. Basics is $10 a month, Pro $17, Elite $32. Annual billing gives you two months free, which drops those to $8.34, $14.17, and $26.67 a month. The 14-day trial is on every tier. There is no free plan.

3. Jobber

   Buyer mode: field service platform. The best all rounder once a second truck shows up. There is no photo to estimate.

   Pricing. On annual billing, Core is $29 a month, Connect $99, Grow $149, and Plus $399. The trial runs 14 days on Grow features.

4. Housecall Pro

   Buyer mode: field service platform. Best when the week fills up by phone. Estimating works off a saved price book you apply by hand.

   Pricing. Basic is $59 a month on annual billing, or $79 month to month. Essentials is $149 or $189. Max is $299 or $329. The trial runs two weeks. The top tier routes through a demo rather than self serve signup.

5. Workiz

   Buyer mode: field service platform. Best for a shop whose lead flow is inbound calls. Estimating stays manual.

   Pricing. Workiz publishes a Standard, Pro, and Ultimate ladder, but not a rate. Every tier reads Request pricing. The trial runs 7 days.

6. Service Fusion

   Buyer mode: field service platform. Every Service Fusion tier includes unlimited users. It prices like a platform, not like an estimating app.

   Pricing. On annual billing, Starter is $208 a month, Plus $325, and Pro $533. Month to month runs $245, $382, and $627. The annual figure is charged as one payment at signup, so budget for the whole year on day one.

7. Knowify

   Buyer mode: job costing and progress billing. Best for a sub who bills commercial work in stages. It is the right tool for a schedule of values, not a fast driveway quote.

   Pricing. Knowify moved to published rates. Core is $99 a month on annual billing, or $149 month to month, and includes one user. Advanced is $329 or $399 and includes ten users. Enterprise stays a conversation. Extra users cost $29 a month each.

   Buyer mode: job costing and progress billing. Best value per seat for a growing crew. The interface runs busier than a focused quoting tool.

   Pricing. On annual billing, Basic is $49 a month for one user. Standard is $105 for up to three, and Plus $166 for up to eight. Pro is $221 for up to fifteen, and Unlimited is $332. The trial runs 30 days, and the site posts a 100 day money back guarantee.

9. FieldEdge

   Buyer mode: field service platform, quote only. Best for a multi truck trade shop that lives in QuickBooks. Estimating sits inside dispatch rather than in front of it.

    Buyer mode: field service platform, quote only. Best once you run an office rather than a truck. It is genuinely overkill for a two person shop.
